Para sempre associado à dupla que formou nos anos 60 com Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon tem reunidos 36 bons fonogramas de sua (coerente) discografia solo na coletânea dupla The Essential Paul Simon. O CD (capa à direita) foi editado esta semana no Brasil pela Warner Music. A compilação dispõe sem ordem cronológica as 36 gravações, que cobrem o período 1972 - 2006. Faltou um ensaio sobre a trajetória individual de Simon. Contudo, o encarte prima por relacionar a origem e a ficha técnica de todas as músicas.
